…the call for a black theme park in present day, was answered in the form of a virtual theme park: Hereborn Park.

Today’s celebration of Black sci-fi, virtual reality, Afrofuturism, and speculative storytelling proves there’s a hunger for new narratives, ideologies, and ways of life.

Hereborn Park taps into this thread by giving a voice to emerging and established artists who’ve worked in these spaces for years. Plus, XR technology—which uses augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and mixed reality (MR), to build immersive worlds—allows people to see, move, play, and experience theme parks in a dimension they may have never entered before.

Hereborn Park is our opportunity to create a space which builds on abundance—not dearth. Our goal is to host transcendental narratives and multi-sensory experiences for all those who support black joy and expression.
